Hey Survivors, 

Just 24 hours to go! It's been a incredibly successful campaign and we are so pleased with the support for Outbreak: Shades of Horror and the series as a whole.  In that vein, for today's update we have both a Location Spotlight and Character Focus, to share more of the great city of Cypress Ridge and her people.

A quick reminder that we are streaming today at both 2PM & 7PM EST on our twitch channel. Come hang out with Evan, play vintage video games and ask random questions. Our last stream of the Kickstarter will be Friday, September 30th, at 10 am EST as we count down to the end of the campaign. Hope to see you there!
 

Character Focus

The College Student

The College student came to Cypress Ridge full of hopes and dreams for new beginnings. On a full scholarship for biochemistry with a minor in Japanese at Cypress Ridge University, they were expecting to go to keggers, join a club and work hard at their prestigious internship at Arzt Memorial Hospital.  They were not expecting to have to fight off zombified classmates, mutant dogs and crawl through sewers thick with toxic waste! Despite the unexpected, they are actually keeping pretty cool. 

Everything is a learning experience so long as you make it out alive, right?

Just a reminder, the community is currently suggesting names for our poll to name the student,  if you are interested in suggesting a name please go to our questions section of our discord here, and type a response to can you name the student. The poll is going up on Friday!

Location Spotlight

The Opera House

The pride of Cypress Ridge, the city's opera house is almost as old as the city itself. Recently undergoing a renovation and renaissance, the board's piece de résistance  was to get famed opera singer, Michiko Yamaguchi, to sing Puccini on her tour of the states. Despite it's updated look, the opera house is built on old bones, with secret passageways and old catacombs that not even the most avid town historian knows about. Old rumors about hooded figures haunting the halls, troubling suicides, and eerie echoes down it's marble corridors at night may have been hushed up with money in the right pockets but that doesn't mean they're dead. 

Stadia Announcement

Hey Survivors.

We are aware of the recent announcement regarding Google Stadia. We are fully able to deliver on all the Stadia reward tiers and add ons as none of them included a game key. If you would prefer to switch to a different rewards tier,  but are having trouble for any reason please message us and let us know and we will help you switch over your pledge.

Again, please note that we can deliver still everything that was promised in the Bring it to Stadia tiers, but unfortunately, we will be unable to bring the game to Stadia as Google has decided to shut Stadia down.

We are looking forward to building an amazing retro survivor horror experience on all the platforms we can. We hope to still see you there, and fight through the Outbreak.

Hey Survivors

We have just 48 hrs left in our campaign! It seems like it's been forever and no time at all!

Before I go into to the updates,  I would like to say what a great pleasure it was to meet some of our wonderful  backers and fans on the twitch channel last night!  Your opinions and ideas have been a great inspiration to the series on whole (Several of our add on tiers were suggested by Backers themselves) and it is wonderful to be growing this series with a community that is as passionate about this project as we are! 

To the Update...

48 hours to go people!  In case you have missed it, we passed our first stretch goal! For Stretch goal #2 we are trying to add cross platform multiplayer to the game! Can we do it?! It's the last 48 hours! anything could happen!

We have added lots to our add on section since the Kickstarter started, so just in case you missed them this is what is still available in the add on sections:

• Playable Survivor (w/ optional VO) 
• Become an NPC : Put yourself in the game! Become one of the myriad of infected, turned or a corpse!
• Signed Outbreak Collection PS4
• Signed Gold and Silver OBC #413 Trading Cards (super limited stock left)
• Scientist Photo: Be one of the creators of the Outbreak. Have your picture added to a group of scientists taking credit for the Outbreak! (Also very limited!) 
• Name on Gravestone: Be remembered! Have a name of your choice placed on the grave markers to honor the dead left around the city.
• Name on Opera House Plaque: Become a posh donor of the Cypress Ridge Opera house and get your name put on a shiny plaque!
•  7 game digital series: This one is pretty self explanatory; all 7 games currently out in digital format.
• Dinner w/ Devs: Come hang out with us! Get dinner at a con and discuss all things Outbreak!
• Design a Monster or Scenario Boss Monster: Be the boss, work with us to create a big bad for one of the levels!

Every cent spent here goes back into game development, so be sure to grab your add ons while you can!

1st Stretch Goal Reached!!!!!!

Hey Survivors,

WE HAVE REACHED OUR FIRST STRECTH GOAL!!!!!! CELEBRATE!!!!

You will now never have to go it alone down the dark alleyways of Cypress Ridge! You will always have your stalwart AI companions at your side! We are very excited to be bringing this to you, as it will definitely make the gameplay more fun!

Now that we have reached stretch goal one, you know what this means... It's time for stretch goal two!

If we can make it to 90K,  we will be able to give you cross platform online multiplayer! We will try to make it possible to play with anyone on any console or PC in the world (provided they are available and wish to play). 

A few more notes...

 Our first twitch stream of the week is tonight at 7 EST. Come join both Evan and I on our Twitch Channel as we play some vintage video games and answer questions about the Outbreak. We hope you pop by!

New Add-On!

An intrepid member of the discord suggested our newest add-on,  Responsible for the Virus Group Picture. For $75, your face will be drawn in a group photo of the Arzt Memorial Hospital researchers who may or may not be responsible for the Outbreak (You'll have to talk to their lawyers). These are already flying off the proverbial shelf, we have just five left! If you want one, act quickly!

We have only 3 days remaining, survivors, so if you are still on the fence about backing us or are thinking of adding on an add on, act sooner rather than later. The Outbreak waits for nobody!

Hey Survivors!

4 days left!  We are $788 dollars away from our first stretch goal! We really want to give you AI bots! For those of you not in the loop, AI survivor bots mean even if you decide to play alone, you will have a team to back you up! If you know anyone who has been on the fence, there has never been a better time to convince them to back!  If you are new to Outbreak, this might be a great time to add on the 7 game digital pack and catch up on the series.

The Chef is named! Our wonderful, talented and incredibly good-looking discord both gave us names and weighed in on our favorites!

We will be taking names for our next community named character from today until Friday. Can you name the Student?! To submit names, please join our discord and reply in #question to the question: Can you name the student? If discord does not agree with you for whatever reason, you can also comment on the update, and I will check here before I make the final poll.

As before, serious name submissions only. Also, please do not submit any names that already belong a highly recognizable character. I do google these and prefer not to be embroiled in legal battles.

Just like we did at the start of the campaign, we will be streaming every evening EST starting from tomorrow via our twitch channel! We will also be streaming during the final countdown on Friday morning! Join Evan as we play retro survival horror, and ask question about Shades of Horror.
